Community spirit alive and well in Blackwell!
An Information Marketplace was held this morning at the Community Centre alongside the newly reopened Post Office. Representatives from the local Safer Neighbourhood Team, Chesterfield Shopmobility and Blackwell Children's Centre were on hand to discuss the range of services they offer and displays of activities by Blackwell Residents' Action Group and Blackwell Youth Club were on show.
The Snack Bar run by volunteers from Blackwell Residents' Action Group did a roaring trade, especially Wendy Gascoyne's famous bacon butties. The Residents' Group received many positive comments that there was a "real community spirit" to the event.
