BRAG AGM report

23 May 2010

13 people attended the AGM of Blackwell Residents’ Action Group which was held in the Community Centre at Blackwell.

Katharine Childs gave a report on the group for 2009 - 2010. Projects included the “A” Winning Mining Monument, support for the reopening of Blackwell Post Office and siting planters and planting bulbs to improve the appearance of the village. Events included the Local History Weekend, Cream Teas, the Big Draw, the Victorian Christmas Fayre and the Snack Bar.

Tracey Taylor, the Treasurer from 2009-2010 gave a report on the groups finances. Tracey was thanked for all her work as Treasurer, as was the outgoing Secretary, Nicola Cartledge.

Elected as Officers were: Katharine Childs, Chair; Carolyn Brown, Vice-Chair, Jane Cooper, Secretary; Susan Pape, Treasurer. Elected to the Committee were Tracey Taylor, Val Price, Rita Mann, Glenda Plume, Wendy Gascoyne, Margaret Clelland, Paul Street, David Purdy, Janet Else, Janet Newham and Ian Newham.

A discussion took place about ideas for future events and activities. The meeting closed with thanks to everyone who has helped and been part of the group over the past year for all their support.
