Blackwell Residents’ Action Group raised over £850 at a Christmas Fair held in the Community Centre in Blackwell on Saturday. First prize of a luxury hamper was won by a raffle ticket in the name of Ford and the weight of the Christmas Cake was correctly guessed by Mark Stone. read more »

29/07/2011      Blackwell Neighbourhood Watch Breaks Records

Over fifty people attended the initial Neighbourhood Watch meeting last week to set up seven schemes throughout the village. This is a record for Derbyshire, and covers more than one hundred homes. 26/07/2011      New policing priorities set for community for the next three months

Police officers in Tibshelf, Newton and Blackwell Safer Neighbourhood Team have been working alongside the local community to set policing priorities for the next three months.

These are: tackling anti-social behaviour on Vicar Lane, Tibshelf and drug-related activity on Central Drive, Blackwell.

How often have we heard people saying there’s nothing for kids to do in the school holidays in the local area? An art exhibition was held by Blackwell Residents Action Group on Sunday 17th July 2011 at Blackwell Community Centre. On display were pottery, paintings, brooches, suncatchers and enamelwork that had been created by local residents during a series of arts and crafts workshops.
